This one was a tough contest and there could have been multiple winners…but we award Cinnamon Bay the title of “Best Beach St. John. Why? Well, Cinnamon Bay has a lot to offer.

If you’re looking for an active beach scene and great people watching, Cinnamon Bay is the place to go. Besides swimming, sunning, snorkeling and picnicking, Cinnamon Bay offers windsurfing, kayaking, volleyball, and even camping. It’s easy to get to and offers extensive facilities, including a general store, snack bar, a restaurant, lockers, restrooms, picnic tables and BBQ grills. There’s even an activities desk where you can sign up for windsurfing lessons, rent snorkel gear, or even take a sunset cocktail cruise. Down the beach, there’s a watersports hut that rents kayaks, beach floats, sail boats, paddle boats, and sailboats. A nearby beach shop sells swimsuits, towels, snacks, and even beach chair rentals. You’ll want for nothing at Cinnamon Bay.

Cinnamon Bay watersports St. John USVIOf course, there’s great snorkeling, but the thing that put Cinnamon Bay over the top as theBest Beach St. John is that its the only place you’ll find surfers and boogie boarders-let’s face it, they’re an integral part of the scenery. The north swell in winter creates the only swell on St. John and surfers, wind surfers and boogie boarders love to ride those waves to the beach. Finally, beach volleyball is another criteria for excellent beaches, and Cinnamon Bay offers beach volleyball–on Sundays, there’s an organized pick up game that usually starts around 11-ish, when the locals come down.

You really cannot go wrong on any beach on St. John–they’re all spectacular, but for the full beach experience, the Best Beach on St John is Cinnamon Bay.
